Tour of the Deluxe Sleeper Compartment onboard the OBB Nightjet (DB Bahn partner) Overnight Train from Munich, Germany to Milan, Italy.

The ride begins around 8pm boarding the train and getting settled in. Inside the Deluxe Sleeper are 3 chairs which fold down to accommodate 3 twin size bunk beds. Attached is a bathroom with toilet, shower, and sink allowing for easier and more private bathroom trips in the middle of the night. After settling in an attendant introduced himself to us and showed us the features of the room, he gave us a breakfast form to fill out, and returned later on request for bedtime turn down service. In the meantime, we enjoyed what we could see out the window as we passed towns and empty fields.

Bedtime! The attendant returned and we stepped out into the hallway. He folded down our beds which were already made and secured them. We got ready for bed by experiencing a shower in a moving train which was fun! The water pressure was decent for a train and the water was warm. It did however come in bursts, about 10 seconds after each button push. The beds were decently comfortable. We were warm and cozy. Sleeping on a train is not the most restful usually with the noise, stopping at different towns along the way and the swaying you feel as you fly down the tracks. All things considered we got decent sleep thanks to this private compartment and a bed! Definitely beats sharing a compartment with 5 strangers like when we backpacked in college.

The next morning was an early wake up call to return our beds back to the chairs and breakfast service which we selected the night prior. Breakfast was continental and had a selection of pastries, yogurt, coffee and juices. Overall, we were very happy with the experience and so glad we chose to ride in the Deluxe Sleeper Compartment on the OBB Nightjet Train.

Deluxe Sleeping Compartment Amenities include: 1, 2 or 3 folding comfortable beds (can accommodate 1-3 people) Private toilet & shower with personal supplies Fresh towels Power socket Drinking water Breakfast order form with a food menu.
