United Premium Plus Economy Review. Not quite Business class luxury but a huge upgrade from normal Economy, United Premium Plus is a must upgrade.
It is well worth the extra money for more room, comfort and amenities not offered in basic Economy. Located between Business class and Economy class. There is a “privacy” curtain separating you from Business class but is open to Economy. Premium Plus also shares bathrooms with Economy so they are located behind the seating area.
The seating arrangement is 2-3-2 while in Economy is 3-4-3. So you can see how you are given a good amount of extra space in this class. In Premium Plus the chair width is larger, there is more reclining space and seats have foot rests. Each has a TV build into the head rest that is touch screen with a remote as well. Two small seat pockets are located underneath. Other storage includes a small pocket under the middle arm rest, enough to hold a small water bottle or headphones case. In addition, a small amenity kit is included with a blanket and pillow.
The meals were filling and plentiful. We were offered an after take-off snack, then a full dinner. Before landing we got another light meal. There was no need to pack any snacks as we never went hungry during the flight.
This plane, 787-9 carbon fiber plane, was a lot quieter than traditional airplanes. Also the cabin pressure is more comfortable, allowing for an overall pleasant flight experience.
If you can swing the extra cash I can guarantee you will be a lot more comfortable for a longer flight.
